In 2006 the South African Province began a new ‘Courage to Move’ Mission in Lukulu, Zambia.

Two Loreto Sisters were missioned to Zambia. The Loreto Sisters have since the beginning been working very closely with the community on the ground, responding to the needs as expressed by the people themselves, and working in a way which supports the people as far as possible in their own struggle.  In response to the ravages of HIV & AIDS, one sister has become very involved in projects relating to healthcare while the other sister is engaged in educational projects.  The empowerment of the local people through training and assisting them in upgrading their resources and facilities, are paramount in the work of the sisters.

Sr Elizabeth Donnan

Sr Pat Hanvey

The sisters are engaged in a variety of ministries in Lukulu.
