In particular the sunsets are truly spectacular. Almost without fail the sisters are treated to a magnificent sunset every day throughout the year. As it is so close to the equator, it is amazing just how much the sun moves north and south throughout the course of the year. This together with the seasonal fluctuations of the water levels (up to 7metre rise after the rains) means that the beauty of the sunsets is constantly changing. |

| The town of Lukulu consists of one main, untarred street, with a small subsidary road off to the Boma or Municipal Offices. The main street connects two shopping areas characterised by informal shops and food markets. The sisters buy their day to day basic needs in these market areas (although they do stock up on more 'luxurious' foodstuff when in Lusaka). They never cease to be amazed just how many household and ministry needs can be purchased in Lukulu - they have come to realise that it does indeed live up to its name 'The Town of Plenty' when one knows where to look, at least for those who have the capacity to buy. |
